Zaporozhye State Medical University is situated in the south of Ukraine in the historical center of Zaporozhye Kossaks, city of Zaporozhye , considered to be a large industrial, scientific and cultural center.

It has 8 higher educational institutions and many colleges. It is a center of metallurgical and instrument-making industry and also famous for production of aircraft engines.

Zaporozhye region is located in the maritime - steppe zone, in the south of Ukraine on the bank of the river Dnieper . In summer, the maximum temperature reached is upto +24 C while the winter temperatures dip to an average of - 4 C.
