INTRODUCTION:

Gomel State Medical University was founded in 1900.

The university is State-Owned with partial autonomy.

It is one of the biggest higher medical institutions in Ukraine, a member of International Association of Universities (IAU), Asociation of European Universities (CRE) and the leader in reformation of medical education in the country.

The university has 18 blocks with a general area of 27,000 sq.m., 48 clinics, 6 hostels, a library with total stock of 10 lakh books, publishing-printing Complex, Scientific Medical Computer Center, Sports Complex, Modern Recreation Centers on the coast of Black sea.

The University enrolls over 4500 students, including 1200 foreign students from 57 countries of the world. Foreign students have been studying since 1946. Presently, students from USA, France, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Jordan, India, Iran, UAE, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bahrain, Nigeria and other countries are studying here.
